Meet Brenda L. Tress

Brenda L. Tress is a Deaf woman, proud mother of three Deaf children, and grandmother. Born and raised in Baltimore, she pursued higher education in Washington, DC, earning four college degrees along the way. Her career as a classroom teacher and certified Deaf interpreter has been devoted to breaking barriers, advocating for civil rights, and empowering others through communication accessibility.
For thirty years, Brenda navigated marriage, motherhood, and the hidden struggles of family dysfunction. After her divorce, she began a journey of self-discovery, finding peace and renewal in her travels. Especially in her RV adventures through the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska.
Brenda’s life reflects resilience, advocacy, and authenticity. Through her writing, she hopes to connect with women, mothers, and families who have endured similar challenges. And offers them solidarity and inspiration for building a life defined by courage and self-love.
